S.R.A. shop allotted in private C.H.S. charges very high maintenance fees

I was allotted a commercial shop under Slum Rehabilitation scheme in the private building built alongside our S.R.A. building because my shop was on the road side and S.R.A. Building is in the back side. The private building society was charging me maintenance of Rs 4500 and property tax of Rs 2500. I have appealed to the society that my shop was allotted in the S.R.A. scheme and I can't pay Rs 7000 per month to the society, it's like I am paying rent for my own shop but they never agreed for reducing the maintenance charges and our dispute was not settled due to covid situation came at that time. Even so I have cleared the property tax in the society but didn't receive any receipt for it. Now the society has issued me notice to pay the whole maintenance charges along with the compounded interest as penalty. I have agreed to pay the principal amount but they are bent on not waiving off the compounded interest and warn to pay the whole amount or they will take legal actions.
