My mother in law don't give my father in law's death certificate to my wife

Hi all, Recently my father in law passed away and my wife's uncle take the death certificate from panchayat office. My wife has 2 sister (unmarried) and mother in law is alive. Now they did not give the death certificate to my wife. May be they are supporting that uncle because we did love marriage and there was cast issue. How can my wife get her father's death certificate? Is anyone can take the death certificate from panchayat? Kindly suggest me..

Yes death certificate is a public document which can be obtained by anyone making an application in the prescribed format laong with prescribed fees. I am not aware that death certificates are issued by panchayat any more. But if so is the case then you can approach the concerned panchayat and get the certificate. In case you need any help in this matter you may contact me on 9013429126.
