Builder asking for maintenance of 5 years

I bought one property in jamshedpur, Jharkhand. It got registered in August 2017. My building got ready to move in 2018 but the project is still under construction. So I decided to move in later on. Just recently that is two months back in October 2022 my father went to builder office for possession. Somehow my father din notice but the date on possession letter was same as property registration date. They took receiving signature from my father. I have paid maintenance for last two months but now the builder has issued previous dues of lump sump amount showing maintenance due from Aug 2017. For your information the society is not handed over yet. Builder has hired some third party who is luking after the maintenance work. Also many a times between 2018 to 2021, I have asked the builder to make the flat ready in terms of fitting of rooms doors so that I can move in but it was done just recently. But these were al verbal communication. Am I liable to pay five years maintenance.
