The Bombay High Court denied Shiv Sena leader and former Member of Parliament Anandrao Adsul's motion for anticipatory release in a money laundering case being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate on Friday (ED). After the Sessions Court declined to give temporary relief in his anticipatory bail plea, Adsul went to the High Court.

The Kerala High Court maintained the 84-day gap between the first and second doses of Covishield vaccination recommended by the federal government [ Kitex Garments Ltd. v. State of Kerala]. The Court overturned a ruling by a single judge that enabled anyone who paid for their Covishield vaccine to obtain the second shot at any time after four weeks.

The Supreme Court Chastises a Law Student For Filing a Frivolous Petition: 'This Is Not A Moot Court Competition'

After admonishing the petitioner for approaching the Supreme Court without really grasping the scope of Article 32 of the Indian Constitution, the Supreme Court rejected a Writ Petition submitted by a final year law student. A bench consisting of Justices L. Nageshwara Rao and B.R. Gavai voiced its disapproval with the Petitioner-in-Writ person's petition alleging a breach of the citizen's right to vote.

Not Having Deep Rooted Connections In India Cannot Be Ground To Deny Bail

Christian Michel, accused in connection with Augusta Westland case, seeking bail in the matter has told the Delhi High Court that mere fact of not having deep rooted connections in India cannot be a ground for the Trial Court to deny him bail. Court was hearing the bail plea filed by Michel in the case registered against him by the CBI.

HC Directs Principal 'DM' To File Report On Manner Of Appointment Of PPOs

In a suo motu writ petition initiated to investigate the matter of appointment of Public Prosecutors in the State, the Kerala High Court has directed all Principal District Judges to file a report regarding the same. Court noted the abject incompetence displayed by the prosecution while dealing with appeals from orders of conviction u/s 302 of IPC and the POCSO Act.
