General Advice

Tamil Nadu

Received an offer letter from one of the Company (IT). After reviewing the offer letter, I noticed that they mentioned like “if employee accepted the offer and not joining, then they have to pay a certain percentage of CTC as penalty”.

So I was not interested to sign the offer letter because of the terms and conditions. Informed the same to the recruiter as not interested to sign the offer letter. Recruiter asks me to share the acknowledgement in the offer email. So I send a formal offer acceptance email.

Now they are taking this as evidence and send a lawyer's notice to pay a certain % of CTC, if fail to pay in certain period then they will be proceeding with legal action.

Need a legal help on this. Thanks in advance.
