We (students from Kerala) request your immediate attention on a serious matter concerning the admission and educational future of 230+ Engineering students spread across 23 different colleges in Kerala affiliated to the “Kerala Technical University”. We have tried all means in the past few weeks - right from media coverage, conducting press conferences, contacting the university VC to reaching out to the state government and CM of Kerala regarding this matter in anticipation of a positive response but all in vain. We are B. Tech. lateral entry (LET) students who were admitted to the 3rd Semester in these colleges for the academic year 2020-21 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic purely based on the marks we received in diploma. Note that the usual state level LET entrance exam was called off due to the pandemic and admissions were made by the colleges based on the marks we secured in our diploma courses. The 3rd Semester classes started (online) on 17th August after the Kerala Technological University instructed the colleges to do so.
