Employment and Labour Laws

I am working on a client side company. Parent Company has these exact terms in their contract. "Any employee resigning before completion of Probation period will have to service a minimum notice period of 30 days. During the period of probation, either party may terminate the employment by giving to each other 30 days’ notice in writing. The company may, however, at its sole discretion, terminate your employment by paying you 30 days salary in lieu of notice."
