I presume you working in an office (termed as a commercial establishment). For commercial establishments the notice period is one month. In the alternative the employee may be relieved by giving a month's salary in lieu of notice. However, this provision applies when the employee has worked for more than 6 months in an establishment. Unless the employment agreement says so, if the period of employment is less than 6 months, the notice period as stated above will not apply and the employee may be terminated without adhering to the notice period.
